To obtain a BDE certificate, a new driver must complete 10 hours of in-car lessons, 20 hours of in-class theory and 10 hours of homework with the driving school. It typically costs between $650 and $1,500 including tax. Interesting fact is that all programs are regulated by MTO and result in same benefits
You may start the Theory portion before you obtain your G1 but must have a valid G1 license before starting the in-car training portion of the course.

According to Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations, students must complete the entire Beginner Driver Education course within one year from their start date. The MTO does not grant any extensions beyond this one-year timeline.

For your in-car driving lesson, you must bring your valid original driver's license (either the paper or plastic card version). If you require prescription glasses for driving, please remember to bring them to your lesson. The lesson duration can range from 1 to 2 hrs.
For in-car lessons, we require a minimum of 48 hours' notice for cancellations, which aligns with industry standards. This allows our instructors to effectively schedule other students in available time slots.
Yes, we offer free pick-up and drop-off service within Guelph city limits for your driving lessons. We can pick you up from your home, school, or workplace. If you need to be dropped off at a different location than your pick-up point, please inform your instructor at the beginning of your lesson.
As per Ministry of Transportation regulations, all driving lessons must be conducted in our driving school vehicles. Our vehicles are specially equipped with dual brake controls for safety, carry comprehensive insurance coverage, and display proper student driver signage
Yes! Our BDE course concludes with a comprehensive mock driving test that mirrors the actual examination format. This simulation provides students with valuable insight into the official drive test scoring criteria and gives them a realistic assessment of their current performance level
Yes, we can help you book the road test in Guelph. Let your in car instructor know your available days and time window, that works for booking. Please note any subsequent changes to the road test appointment need to be done by the student.
Students can collect their Driver's Licence History (DLH) or BDE certificate or insurance certificate as proof of course completion. This can be obtained in person at Service Ontario Guelph or requested online through the Service Ontario website.
The BDE certificate may qualify you for reduced auto insurance rates for up to 3 years.
