No, you do not need to have a G1 license before enrolling  for Beginners Driver Education program with Excellence Driving School. However, in-car lesson can only commence once you have a G1 licence.

Students are advised to collect Driver’s Licence History (DLH) or BDE certificate as proof of successful course completion. This can be collected in person from Service Ontario Guelph or can be requested online from Service Ontario website.

Students who successfully complete a BDE Program may be eligible for a potential insurance discount. They will have to provide BDE certificate to their car insurance provider

Completing a BDE course makes a student eligible to reduce the wait time between G1 and G2 licenses by 4 months

Our certified driving instructors offer flexible scheduling to accommodate your busy life. We provide lessons starting 9:00 am to 7:pm on weekdays. We also offer

• Evening appointments for working professionals and students
• Weekend slots for those with busy weekday schedules
• Extended hours during summer months and holiday seasons

To ensure you get your preferred time slot, we recommend booking your lessons at least one week in advance. Priority scheduling is available for students preparing for upcoming road tests.

Yes! Our driving school proudly accepts the Free to Grow program, making driver education more accessible for eligible students. If you qualify for this program, you can use it to cover part or all of your driving lessons. To apply, check your eligibility through the Free to Grow program website.

You have four primary ways to book your road test:

1. In-Person Booking Visit DriveTest location in Guelph. Bring your G1 license and make sure you have completed your BDE course.
2. Call drive test at 1-888-570-6110.
3. Online Booking Use the official Ontario DriveTest
4. Complimentary Instructor Assistance Excellence Driving School offers booking support through our instructors when you choose any Road test packages. They can guide you through booking process and help you choose optimal test times.

Looking to take G2 early! In Ontario, there's an excellent way to reduce your waiting time for the G2 road test through the Ministry-approved Beginner Driver Education (BDE) course.

Normally, new drivers must wait a full year after receiving their G1 license before attempting the G2 road test. However, by completing the comprehensive BDE course, you can shorten this waiting period by four months, allowing you to take the G2 test after just 8 months.

The BDE course is a structured program that provides you with essential driving knowledge and skills:

• 20 hours of theory online
• 10 hours of flexible homework assignments
• 10 hours of hands-on, practical in-car training

Once you successfully complete all 40 hours of the program, you'll receive a BDE certification that will be added to your driver's license history. This BDE certificate will allow you to take G2 road test early.

Think of the BDE course as an accelerated learning path that not only helps you get your license faster but also makes you a more confident and skilled driver. By investing time in comprehensive driver education, you're setting yourself up for success on the road.

Refund Eligibility and Terms

1. Lesson Refund Eligibility: Students are eligible to request refunds for driving lessons that have not yet been completed or commenced.
2. Refund Request Process: To initiate a refund, students must contact our customer service team at our website within 14 days of the original lesson purchase. Refund requests submitted after 14 days will not be processed.
3. Refund Processing: Our Guelph driving instruction team will review refund requests within 5-10 business days. Refunds will be credited to the original payment method used during booking.
4. Non-Refundable Expenses: Delivered driving lessons will not be refunded. Administrative and processing fees may be deducted from the refundable amount.

                   Excellence Driving School reserves the right to modify this refund policy. 

An enhanced driver’s licence is an upgrade to an Ontario driver’s licence that can be used as a travel document between Canada and the United States of America when travelling by road or water.

As of June 2019, the Enhanced Driver’s Licence (EDL) is no longer offered as per Government of Ontario official website.

You may apply for other travel documents, such as a Canadian Passport, ePassport, FAST or NEXUS for travel across the US border.
